Delete your ingreview account

There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, or by email. This page says exactly what is removed, what stays in the community data with your identity stripped off it, and how long each route takes.

Option A — in the app (immediate)

If you can still sign in, this is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

  1. Open the ingreview app and sign in to the account you want removed.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account.
  3. Type the confirmation word the dialog shows you (DELETE in English, SİL in Turkish) and confirm.

Timing. The server-side deletion runs immediately — there is no grace period, no queue, and no undo. The app then signs you out and wipes the copy of your data stored on the device itself.

What is deleted

  • Your account and its sign-in identity (email address, authentication records)
  • Your profile — display name, username, and your avatar photo file
  • Your sensitivity profiles, including any household profiles you created
  • Your preferences
  • Your scan history and per-product scan records
  • Your favourites
  • Your collections
  • Your notifications
  • Your email preferences (digest, alerts, promotional email)
  • Your referral records — both the invitations you sent and the one you were invited through
  • Your ingredient-contribution records and reward ledger entries

What is kept, with your identity removed

Community data you contributed stays in the shared catalogue so other people's readings do not change, but the link back to you is severed — the user id on the row is set to null and cannot be restored:

  • Product ratings you gave
  • Sensitivity reports you filed
  • Product image reports you filed
  • Products and product photos you contributed to the catalogue

What deletion cannot reach

Adapty, Firebase Crashlytics and PostHog key their records on a random install id, not on your account, so deleting the account does not remove those records; each vendor keeps them until its retention period runs out (see the privacy policy). Reinstalling only creates a new id. Turning crash reporting or analytics off in Settings stops any further data being sent.

What is currently retained with your user id

One thing survives deletion as-is, and we would rather say so than let you find out: the user_consents records — which consent you gave, for what, and when — are kept with your user id attached. They are the evidence that a consent was actually obtained, and today the deletion routine does not touch them. Nothing else is retained. If you want these removed too, say so in an email to privacy@ingreview.app and we will handle it as part of your request.

Option B — by email

Use this if you cannot open the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather have us do it.

  • Write to privacy@ingreview.app
  • Send it from the email address on the account — that reply-from address is how we verify it is you. We will not ask you for a document, a photo, or a password.
  • Use the subject line “Delete my account”.

Timing. Data-protection law requires a reply within 30 days (KVKK Article 13 / GDPR Article 12), and that statutory limit is the outer bound on this route. The deletion itself is the same immediate server-side operation described in Option A. If the address a request comes from cannot be matched to an account, we say so rather than delete someone else's data.

Deleting your account is one of several rights you have over your data — access, rectification, portability, and the rest are set out in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app without deleting the account leaves the account in place; use one of the two routes above.
